Dal Makhni Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole black lentils (urad dal)
- ¼ cup kidney beans (rajma)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 2 medium tomatoes (pureed)
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tsp Dal Makhni Masala
- ½ cup fresh cream
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
- 1 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Soak black lentils and kidney beans overnight, then pressure cook until soft.
2️⃣ Heat oil and butter in a pan, sauté onions until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
3️⃣ Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
4️⃣ Add Dal Makhni Masala, salt, and cooked lentils. Stir well.
5️⃣ Simmer on low heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6️⃣ Add fresh cream and dried fenugreek leaves. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
7️⃣ Serve hot with naan or basmati rice.
